Hello everyone

Here's a reminder that the Ice Cream social is just a few days away (December 7th at 7:30pm in the lounge).

Also, as a reminder, extended office hours are put on hold from December 6th til January 2nd. During this time, the office will be open M-F from 8:30am-5:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm.

As always, feel free to contact a CA after office hours.

We wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the submissions of three Engelhart authors in this Fall's mid-quarter newsletter! Lucie Huet, Genevieve Brown and Kamau Kokayi-Taylor!

Also, this is a great time to mention that Lucie and Kamau will each be receiving a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble! CONGRATULATIONS!

Want to win a gift card to Barnes & Noble? Keep an eye out for the end-of-quarter call for newsletter articles. Authors are chosen at random! Articles should be 250-350 words in length and can be about almost anything! (See the newsletter for ideas!)
Here are some to get the ball rolling:
- A recent vacation
- A new restaurant experience/recipe (with a story or pictures, preferably)
- A hobby or interest of yours
- A research topic of interest to you (for general audience)
- Etc!

Halloween Party 2010!

Engelhart Minigolfing!

Hello, everyone!

Hopefully the first week of fall is going well! As we bid farewell to the nice weather (or at least nice for Chicago) we do so the only way we see fit: Minigolf at Skokie Sports Park

That's right! Sign up at the front office to reserve your space this coming Saturday October 2nd.

Here are the details:
Meeting time: 11:45am, Engelhart lobby. Bus leaves at 12:00pm and returns here at 3:00pm
Cost: $10 includes access to the minigolfing course (including kid's course) and transportation to and from the sports park. Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the event.

Floor Parties!

The school year seems to be upon us as welcome-week festivities are well underway. Engelhart has a welcome tradition of its own: Floor parties!

Starting on Wednesday 9/22 and continuing through 9/30 (see schedule below), the CA's will be going from floor to floor with free soda and snacks. We will be setting up near the elevators on your floor. As grad students ourselves, we know that the scent of free food and drink will lure most of you out of your rooms and towards social interactions!

So, come join us as we visit your floor and get to meet your floormates, nextdoor neighbors, maybe even your roommates!

What a fun time! We hammered through no fewer than 40 burgers and hotdogs and enjoyed the beautiful summer day! Stay tuned for the next big thing at Engelhart!
